Classroom Conversations:
Classroom discussions are critical to the inquiry process. During discussions we brainstorm, synthesize information and clarify our understandings.
The Driving Question Board:
The students come up with questions, make observations, and answer their questions through investigations.
Activities:
We are always engaged in some part of an activity. Observing the reaction involving copper chloride and aluminum foil was definitely a good place to start.
Word Wall:
Students add vocabulary words as the unit progresses. Our Word Wall reinforces prior knowledge, investigations, and questions related to the Driving Question Board.
Scientific Principles:
Scientific Principles are developed and revised as we move form activity to activity.
Models:
Making models is a key skill we work on all throughout the year. Models are used to explain and understand phenomena. Models are revised to improve scinetific explanations.
